2018 NBA SUMMER LEAGUE

Every summer, the NBA hosts Summer League for two weeks in July. This year, 10 TEAM students had the chance to attend the event in Las Vegas and work with industry experts from various NBA teams. This was the first event of its kind where our students engaged directly with NBA teams at Summer League. Teams included the Los Angeles Clippers, Washington Wizards, Atlanta Hawks, Brooklyn Nets, Oklahoma City Thunder and Golden State Warriors. A pair of students were assigned to each NBA team and tasked with a specific scout scenario where they had to breakdown film from a Summer League game using the SportsCode software and present their analysis to coaches and/or analytics staff at Thomas and Mack Arena, during team practices, and at team hotels. We received great feedback from coaches and staff about student presentations, specifically their level of exposure and skill at such a young age. We are really proud of the work they did and look forward to continuing building relationships with teams to create additional opportunities for our students in the future.
